iPhone 14 Pro in stock at retailers
As a reminder, with this new generation of iPhone Pro, Apple abandons the famous notch and presents the very interesting Dynamic Island, a double punch-hole for Face ID and the front camera, hidden under a single black pill in a software way. The shape of this
dynamic island evolves according to the uses, thus making it possible to widen the black part in order to propose buttons on each side in certain cases, additional information (the developers will be able for example to display a waiting time). The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max feature new 6.1- and 6.7-inch OLED panels with thinner edges, 1,600 nits brightness (even reaching 2,000 nits outdoors) and especially the expected mode
screen always on. When this mode is activated, thea brightness decreases and the refresh goes to 1 Hzallowing information to be displayed (time, date, widgets) without reducing battery life too much (it will be possible to define a wallpaper for this mode).
Both smartphones host the A16 Bionic chip engraved in 4nm and embedding 16 billion transistors, 2 efficient cores (consuming 20% less energy according to Apple), 4 efficient cores consuming
a third less than the competition and a Neural Engine with 16 cores. On the photo and video side, Apple announces the arrival of a main sensor of 48 megapixels 65% wider opening at f/1.78 with 2.44 micron solar cells. The shots will remain in 12 megapixels (48 MP in ProRAW) so as not to take up too much space (pixel binning on 4 pixels) and we can zoom in the sensor X2. The ultra wide angle remains in 12 megapixels, opens at ƒ2.2 and should be up to three times more effective in low light. The flash has also been completely redesigned to provide better brightness. Video performance is also evolving, notably with a Cinematic mode now available in 4K at 30 or 24 frames per second.
